The best cardamom bun from @salmonberrygoods 💖 maybe it’s my Norwegian roots, but cardamom is one of my fave spices to bake with 👩🏻‍🍳 the holidays may be over, but that doesn’t mean you have to completely give up treats! 😘 the “all or nothing” approach to eating is rarely successful & isn’t very enjoyable! Did you know that popcorn is a whole grain?? 🍿 this air popped treat is a staple in my evening snack rotation 😋 it satisfies my cravings for salty & crunchy & is packed with fiber! 💪 make your own popcorn to cut down on the sodium & fat in typical movie theater or microwave popcorn 😘 I personally love my air popper! But you can also make it on the stove or you can make your own microwave popcorn using a brown paper bag 💁🏻‍♀️ & have fun with toppings! My current fave is furikake 💖 inspired by @nom_life

The holiday season may look a little different this year, but one thing that likely hasn’t changed is the abundance of treats & decadent food! 💖 I fully support enjoying all of these things 💯 but sometimes the extra sugar & rich foods can leave our digestive systems not as happy as our taste buds 🥴 so how do we help our gut get back on track? Try these tips! 👇🏿👇🏽👇🏻
*Hydrate 🥤 Holiday meals often include alcohol (which is dehydrating) & may be lacking in fiber. Drink plenty of fluids to keep things moving & help with any bloating!
*Eat plenty of fresh fruits & veggies 🍎 these provide fiber for your good gut bacteria & also help to hydrate you!
*Get moving 🧘‍♀️🚴‍♂️ whether it’s a neighborhood walk or rolling out the yoga mat, movement is key to relieving symptoms like gas & bloating!
*Don’t restrict your eating 🙅‍♀️ continuing to eat normal meals & snacks will help get you back on track faster than limiting your eating, which can actually slow down your digestive system
